What is the make and year of this small racing car?
What series did it compete in?
One point puzzle.

faksta

Wow.. I can clearly see where the inspiration came from  :)

woodinsight

Perhaps a pioneer in front wings and end plates?  ;D

It is an F3 500cc Emeryson from I guess 1951 (not in this aero package, though). FWD and JAP engine as far as I'm aware.
What I meant in my first comment is that the nose might have been inspired by an aerodynamic Maserati 250F from 1955, depends on when the modification to the body was made.

Yes it's an Emeryson F3 but not from 1951.....
Can you narrow it down if I tell you that it might well have been inspired by the aerodynamic 250F of 1955?
Locked for you....

The last Emeryson 500cc was made in 1952 AFAIK, they have later switched to other classes. This one indeed looks like 1952 car, but with some new body panels (front aero and 'sidepods' with longer exhaust pipes). I'd still say it could be a pre-1955 model (I'm thinking of 1952 model now), possibly privately modified by someone in, say, 1956...

I believe it was modified in 1956 but as you say it probably originated in 1952. I'll have to check my Emeryson history.
Whatever, another point for you and thanks for that extra information.

faksta

Thanks! But would you change the name to Emeryson please?  :P
