If it were right hand drive, I would suggest Hindustan Ambassador. Is it an export model?
Not a Hindustan Ambassador.
Is this a prototype car?
It is a special-bodied version of a production car.
I don´t think it´s american. But it has the US look of the early 50s, of course.
Was this the work of a european coachbuilder?
Yep.
Fiat inside?
No sir.
is it Italian?
Aesthetically, yes. Mechanically, no.

The modern (for its time) yet conservative styling of this car makes it appear smaller than it is. This is a rather large car.
East European?

Yes! ;)
Yay for me! :D
So was it constructed in the US?
If so, I can't tell what state the licence plate is from.

Nope! Only chassis ;D
Well it's certainly an interesting car, and it looks well used. You might not expect to see the bumpers all dented up on such a vehicle!
Just curious, do you have other shots of the car?
Is the body Italian?
1950 Chrysler with body by Pinin Farina, on a New Yorker chassis.
