If BMC
and Henry's firm
Had gotten together
a phrase might they turn?
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

woodinsight

Giacolot designed by Barry Lock? The name may also be Giacomol?

Otto Puzzell

To your earlier post, Ford and BMC?  Any colour you like as as it's rust?! ;D

Anyway, this wouldn't be a Matich creation would it?
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

Otto Puzzell

Is that a person or a company? The spelling is similar to that of a constructor associated with one of this car's creators.

The Matich I'm refering to was both a person (Frank Matich, Aussie racing driver) and a small-scale car production company.

Otto Puzzell

No, then.

I've given you a little clue with my previous reply.

Don't suppose it's a Maverick?

Dooh, I totally missed that obvious clue!   Intrigued to now know though what the link/person is that sounded a bit like Matich?

Leyland - Ford - that's what Otto was referring to - methinks.

Though I followed the other clue, the Giacottolo one and that's how I found it.

Leyford engineer Barry Lock later founded Kaditcha, a builder of open-wheel and sports-racer cars. As I now realize woodinsight ID'd Lock (but not the car), I'm throwing a bonus point his way.

All pics missing since the big crash.  This body of this car is rumored to be based on the J&S Hunter.  I found this image of the Leyford GT, taken in 2012:
