I guess you're quite close, but to confirm I need to check it at home.
Please be a little patient.

Apologize for my late reply.
My source reports nothing of a Boano coachwork.

In fact you've got the required make and model designation, but I still want something which wasn't mentioned, yet.
Locked for you till your next reply.

No, but knowing you're not keen on locks and this puzzle has been locked for 3 days I thought maybe you were having a re-think..

Seems not however.

Yes, sorry, I misread it as I was looking at the date of his reply rather than yours.
If it becomes open again there is something I'd like to add...

QuoteIn 1954 Alfa Romeo presented the Alfa Romeo Giulietta with an extraordinary success. And in the spirit of Alfa Romeo there should be a competition model to promote the new Giulietta. Alfa Romeo 750 Competizione was presented in 1955 in a beautiful Carrozzeria Boano creation; he had used the Alfa shield from the Abarth Alfa Romeo 2000 and incorporated it very skilful in the front of the spider. At the rear he used his design of the Giulietta, he only makes the rear fins more visible in this model. The chassis was a task for Carlo Abarth and with the expectation of a series of 50 cars he used all his skills to produce a lightweight chassis for competition and the weight for the car was as low as 690 kg. The Wheelbase was 2120 mm and track with front 1220 mm rear 1240. All the mechanical parts were from standard Giulietta Veloce. And the purpose was to participate in the new international competition class on 1500ccm For the car, Alfa Romeo had produced a new engine 4 cyl Bore/stroke 76x82  90` valve angel compression 10,0:1 and it gave 145 hp at 8000 r/min and with a 5 speed gear box it was able to reach 220 km/h.
Only 2 prototypes was build.

This car is not from 1955.. Do you have a front view to confirm that we're talking about the same car?

Again I have to repeat I do not know of any Boano connection, though you're right mentioning Carlo Abarth.

As I read it you said this was locked until Max Pershin's next reply.  He has replied now and you haven't re-locked it so it would seem to be unlocked?

This car appears in Alberto Fornai's Carrozzieri Italiani as a Boano.
2 Alfa 750 Competizione models were produced in 1955 (as Max Pershin says).  One was the Spider Competizione Tipo 750 Corsa, and I think that is the one Max refers to, with fins.
The other one, the car pictured, is the Spider competizione corsa grezzo (which translates as crude competition racer) which was a much less refined pure race car.  The chassis of both cars were constructed by Abarth.

Tomorrow I will post the page which says all this in Italian and (poor!) English, but according to Fornai it is definitely a Boano car, the Tipo 750 spider competizione corsa gresso.

A point for max_pershin, then!
