Any idea what this could be?
Please respond below if you know the make of this thing and who built it.
One point for the right and complete answer!
(the guy in the car looks somewhat familiar again...)

No, I think it's because he can't see where he's going since someone nicked his eyes..
Pro's!
Is it not a car at all anymore, but a piece of furniture?
No.
Made for a movie?
Not that I know of.
Amphibious?
From Spain?
South American?
No.
I think the owner's country is written on the plate. More important is where it was built and the name of the project.
Well, it's not like you to leave the obvious exposed. Remember the cars with identical taillights that couln't be seen in the pictures presented? ;D
So, I was looking (incorrectly) at the many other places with the same name.
Based on a competition vehicle?

Oh, my weak memory...
Unfortunately my source reveals nothing about a based vehicle at all.. :-\

Can it fly?
No, it can't even drive...
Is the rear half of the car missing?
Not the rear half, but something quite essential..
The automotive bits - drivetrain and suspension?

The automotive bits - drivetrain and suspension?
I guess it isn't equipped with these parts as well...
I don't know if it was ever completed.
However its badged with the brand name and coachbuilder — which I was most surprised.
wow.
It screams Bertone (or Gandini if you prefer...) but it can't be...
Was it made in the USA?
the body was obviousely not made in the USA..
That guy looks like a bartender. Were drinks dispensed from this 'car'?
A weird idea, but I can't answer anything according that man.
The building company is very famous, but usually not associated with cars like that!
If you've found it the rest of the work shouldn't be too hard.
And thanks to be featured! :)

I just recognized the idea is not that weird if you look at this :D:
Clue: the name of this coupé is quite often used for cars. There's even a jet with that name.
The coachbuilder is VERY common, but usually it made completely different cars.
Mirage?
Hornet?
British coachbuilder?
No, not British.
Italian coachbuilder?
Not Italian either.
French?
American?
European bodywork at all? (Those kitsch tiger and elephant rugs in the background made me think of India for a second.)
European coachwork!
From Benelux?
German?
Is the coachbuilder usually known for buses, like Kässbohrer?
Karmann?
..and the pictures can even be found at Wikipedia :o
Point goes to woodinsight! :applause:
A strange project that Karmann bodied Mirage...
Was it ever completed and roadgoing?
Is the 4th of June, 1970 the date the photo was taken?
Who is Barrie Spencer? The photographer, the designer, the party host?
Why Karmann built this body shell?
I hardly know anything except of the name of the car and the name of the coachbuilder.
Maybe someone has more to offer for a future point.
Here's a closer view which proves that Karmann really made this body kit:

Thanks for the point!
It just shows if you don't try you don't succeed.
I didn't have an idea about this puzzle when it was first posted but when I saw you were looking for a common German coachbuilder I jumped in and ...... Bingo!
