Morris Twenty-five or Twenty-one.
Have tried to attach Morris Big6 ad image without success :(

woodinsight

Max, you have answered part of the puzzle correctly - it is a Morris Big Six body but the base it sits on is much older. Quite surprising why such a body was fitted on this chassis.......

Seeking professional help on this one

barrett

The wheels remind me of a high-end American car from the '30s like an Auburn..

Time for a hint - the chassis is British also but the conversion was done far away from the UK

Not Vauxhall - rather more sophisticated than that

João

Based on a Silver Ghost chassis and Australian made?

woodinsight

Not quite up to Silver Ghost standards and Australia is quite close!

Well,so let's try a Daimler chassis and New Zealand!

woodinsight

New Zealand is correct and Daimler is closer to the standard of the chassis

woodinsight

Not Napier.
A clue - this marque started production one year prior to the commencement of the 20th. century.

woodinsight

Not Lanchester but you're getting there....

Sounds like Sunbeam to me, probably a 3 Litre.

I'm going to call this one solved as I don't think anymore information is available at the moment.
In this case I'll award one point each to Max, Joao and Wendax for correctly identifying the various items I asked for.
I have attached the magazine (T&CC 1993) article where the puzzle originated for your information.
