You are on the right track, but not a Rosier.
Panhard-based?
No; based on another well-known French family car ;).
Renault-based?
Oui.
VP (Vernet et Pairard)?
No, not a VP.
Perhaps a Renault 4CV-based Pichon-Parat?

Sorry gentlemen, but none of the above.

Perhaps a DB Renault 750 Sport?
Not a DB.
Zoot alors!
I'm a bit stumped on this one at the moment.
Search is still on........
It looks a bit like the Devin-Panhards, which used a shell based on the DB 750 design... could it be oen of those modified to accept the rear-engined layout?
Not a Devin I'm afraid, and clearly more difficult than I thought it might be!
Moving on...

Not a Gordini.

R.N.U.?
I think I need to ask some different questions next as it's not going to be solved this way.
Sadly Woodinsight I don't know too much more about this 4CV-based car to add any futher clues. Sorry!
Okay - no problems, I'll keep looking
Chevallier?
That sounds a bit like an old French singer/actor mashed up with a GM product :D
Sorry, but not one of those!
Presumably this car has a racing history.
Do you know if it has competed in major international events?
I spoke very briefly to the owner of this car who sadly had not had the car for long and knew little of its history. He had been told thayt it had raced at Le Mans, but I don't think this is correct. I shall double-check this later however and confirm or otherwise. Beyond that, I really don't know too much more... :(
I'm pretty sure that this car did not race at Le Mans, but I'll double check the entries/photos again
Georges Irat?
Could this be the La Douille constructed by Jean Douillard?
At last. Well done Woodinsight, a good way to begin the New Year. Do you know much more about the car? Here's another photo.
Belated congratulations too in joining the Pros. Life gets really tough now! :D
At the moment I don't have any more information but I'm still searching for further details.
Life in the Pros is probably hard (and a bit frustrating) but I will devote more time to posting group puzzles and writing some articles for the site.
Thanks and Happy New Year to you too.
That's a nice barquette!
