D-type

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

woodinsight

Not Amilcar - larger and it is French

Djetset

A pre-War original, or a post-War pastiche? (I'm favouring the latter!).
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

woodinsight

You'd be correct in thinking this is a post war pastiche.
I don't know the builder, only the marque and model it was based on

Djetset

It's not a LeClerq creation is it?
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

woodinsight

No - this is more of a one-off

woodinsight

It's based on the same marque as another of my unsolved puzzles - if that's any help!

As we are heading towards the festive period, here's a Christmas present
Make, model and year this car was based on for a point
The final photo I have -

Hotchkiss-based? The radiator looks like it.

bentleyspecial

Yep, surely a Hotchkiss. AM 80. But what it's based on......?

woodinsight

Hotchkiss based it is.
The point will go to the one who fills in the model -
Hotchkiss xxx Special

Wendax

I found it as the Hotchkiss Mont Ventoux Special. The chassis is a 1934 Hotchkiss 615 with 1936 Hotchkiss 686GS engine, gearbox, axles, brakes and all running gear.

woodinsight

That's the car - well done
Another point for you
