QuoteIce 4 : Leyland FG with Ice H : Thatcher in a tank ( a Challenger,manufactured in Leyland ).

It is the right pairing, but not the right reason. Remember the theme of this puzzle!

Ok,Margaret Thatcher, former British Prime Minister, probably be best remembered for her contribution to the ice cream industry!  ;D

"One important development in the 20th century was the introduction of soft ice cream (like Mr Whippy uses!). A chemical research team in Britain (of which a young Margaret Thatcher was a member) discovered a method of doubling the amount of air in ice cream, which allowed manufacturers to use less of the actual ingredients, thereby reducing costs."
That is the connection I was looking for as this ice cream van is a "soft ice" cream van from Mr. Whippy.

No.
The last connection may be very hard for you to find. It would be easier if you had grown up in Germany,  France, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, the Netherlands, South Africa, Japan or Taiwan.

I can't believe! There's also a Cadbury Viking bar!

Cadbury Viking
Cadbury Tempo

Unbelievable! I'm almost tempted to give you the point, but my (completely different) connection wants to be identified.  ;D Just for the fun of it!

Another very nice one I would have liked to use if I had known it.  :)
A hint: my connection has to do with the ice cream brand.

A replica Viking ship made by Robert McDonald of the US from 15 million ice-cream sticks undertakes a test sail on the Markermeer in Lelystad.

Great, but still not it.

Ice Cream Man
At the cool little space known as Public Assembly, Babelgum and the Ice Cream Man decided to throw a party last night (Nov. 17th). Not only was there an open bar and free ice cream to celebrate the completion of the Ice Cream Man's journey across America and the music festival scene, but musical acts Kurt Vile and Times New Viking were set to entertain the assembled mass. Not bad for a Tuesday.

You're looking for the Viking Ice Machine?
No, the amphibious vehicle is used to promote a special ice cream brand. That will lead you further.

Oguerrerob

Something to do with Cadbury's Icecreamland?

Wendax

You already stated in an early post the name of the amphibious vehicle. That is the key to the connection, but as I said before it might be useful to have grown up in certain countries (not Brazil nor Venezuela, sorry).

Another conection:
The model that wear that hat att the Ascot Ladies Day, Freya Berry. There's an Irish tour called Viking Splash Tour (That's a look-a-like HMS Flakes 99). The lady in that tour is called Freya  ("The only female in the fleet – viking goddess associated with love, beauty, fertility, gold, war and death")

Wendax

You find connections I never dreamt of. But sorry, you have to keep digging.  :D

There still is another connection between "Flake" and "Viking". Remember what I said about certain countries.

Tom_I

There was a children's television program which started in the 1970s about a Viking boy called Vicke, Vicky or Wickie, depending on country and language, based on books about Vicke Viking by Swedish author Runer Jonsson.

Vicke was the son of the local chief Halvar, and lived in a village called Flake.

Wendax

That's it!

Well done, gentlemen.
