This puzzle is a little bit different. You don't have to identify a car that you can see in the picture, because there is no car in the picture. It's gone. But I think those pictures are so widely known that you will be able to identify the missing cars. Have fun!
One point each for every correct car. Points will be awarded at the end.
-
The correct answers:
#1: Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV (Otto Puzzell)
#2: Fiat 124 Sport Spider (als15)
#3: Fiat 124 Sport Coupé (araknid)
#4: BMW 3.3 L (Allemano)
#5: Mecedes-Benz C111 (hondast)
#6: Triumph Spitfire 1500 (Limo)
#7: Ford Capri RS 2600 (Ehhxekt)
#8: Citroen SM (Limo)
-

-
Nr. 6 is a yellow Triumph Spitfire 1500 met italian license plates.
Yes, another one found.
-
#3: Fiat 131 racing? haha, brilliant puzzle!
-
no.8 is a goldcolor Citroen SM, as i remember right... can't find the original...
You remember it right, a Citroen SM it is. Congratulations.
-
#3: Fiat 131 racing? haha, brilliant puzzle!
Sorry, not a 131 racing.
-
i found a 131 racing with almost the same background, i think a different Fiat?
-
That is a good way to go
-
fiat 850 (#3)
-
fiat 850 (#3)
I know I'm cruel, because Fiat used quite similar backgrounds for their press photos in those years, but you have to keep on searching as it is not an 850.
-
could be Fiat 124 spider, the orange looks different in the same pictures scanned by different people...
-
Near miss. #3 locked for you until your next reply.

This is the Fiat (now Euphon) shooting theatre in Strada della Manta, Turin. It's till used today and is very common for Fiat pictures. I've my idea but... I must wait Limo.
-
#5 MB C-111?
-
Yes, it is. Did that little orange reflection on the wet pavement help you?
-
Yes, it is. Did that little orange reflection on the wet pavement help you?
:D C-111 I, II and III.
Great idea the invisible puzzle. ;)
-
Near miss. #3 locked for you until your next reply.
How about it, Limo? It is locked for two and a half days now. als15 is waiting. I won't keep it locked forever. ;D
-
#3. I'm waiting, too.
-
Got!!! :hyper:
Just waiting to be allowed to give the answer...
-
I will unlock now. Have a go at it.
-
#3 Fiat 124 Coupe
-
Yes, #3 is the Fiat 124 Sport Coupé.
Three invisibles left. Come on, at least one isn't that hard. ;)
-
aaargh, it was a near miss indeed, it's even a Fiat 124...didn't get the hint.
nr.7 reminds me of Treser Hunter picture.. but i guess it will be a 4x4?
-
#7 is neither a Treser Hunter nor a 4X4 at all!
-
Can our professionals shed some light on the rest?
-
Some general hints:
The unsolved cars are contemporary with the solved ones, they all have a rather sporting image, and for at least one of the unsolved puzzle pictures it could help if you played car quartet when those cars were new.
-
#1 is the 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia
-
You certainly have got the right picture. It is an Alfa Romeo, but neither a Giulia nor from 1962. Locked for you to find the right model.

D'oh!
2000 1750 GTV GT Veloce
-
In fact, it is a 2000 GT Veloce, as one can tell by the "scudetto" formed only by the horizontal chrome strips. But I'll accept this answer. ;)
That leaves the two black/white pictures to be solved.
-
Could #7 be a Ford Capri RS 2600?
-
Could #7 be a Ford Capri RS 2600?
Hey, well observed. It is the Ford Capri RS 2600!
One car left now.
-
One hint for the last one: it is considered as sporting as the other ones, but it isn't a coupe or convertible.
-
Is #4 a Lotus Cortina, perhaps?
-
No
-
A German sports sedan?
-
Yes
-
I can't find a picture to match, but is it a BMW 2002?
-
Close, but not enough doors
-
BMW 1800?
-
BMW, but not 1800
-
Not enough doors... hence not 1600-2. Let's say 1500.
-
BMW E3 series?
Though I haven't found that very picture I've found some of the same location.
I'm still not sure, but change to BMW E12 520, perhaps first official pictures shot during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.

First thoughts are often better ;)
-
Still wondering which E3 it is?
-
Still wondering which E3 it is?
A 2500?
-
No
-
2800, then?
-
No
-
3,3l ? ::)
-
Finally this one has been solved: it is a BMW 3.3L.
-
That results in:
2 points for Limo,
1 point each for Allemano, als15, araknid, Ehhext, hondast and Otto Puzzell.
-
I don't know why but suddently it pops up at first page of the results.. (http://www.mysmilie.de/midi-smileys/verwirrt/1/0015.gif) (http://www.mysmilie.de/)
