While the big ones are having fun with their Big Puzzle, the rest may enjoy this group puzzle. All cars are somehow related to wood. So it "wood" be nice, if you identify the pictured cars in order to gain one point each. The puzzles range from Balsa to Red Ironwood, literally spoken. Have fun!

DeAutogids

Correct! The 1942 Hydromobile has been restored meanwhile. The wood isn't that obvious anymore. I saw the Hydromobile in the Manoir de l' Automobile in Lohéac in Brittany last October. Very impressive!

Correct (I'll accept Maniva instead of Maniwa  ;) )

Wood 3 is a Henschel truck fitted with a wood gasifier, a device to generate combustible gas by burning wood in a controlled way, then cooling and filtering the gas, which could then be used to power a combustion engine, in the same sort of way that LPG is used. This sort of technology was widely used in Europe during WW2 when petrol was scarce. This gasifier was produced by Menck & Hambrock GMBH of Altona, Hamburg.

Very good! To make it perfect, can you name the model designation of the truck? Wood 3 locked for you.

Tom_I

I have seen it listed as a Henschel 5 D 2, but I don't know much about these trucks, so I don't know if that's correct.

Well done, that's the designation I was looking for.

By the way, at the time the picture was taken, Altona was an independent city. Hence the number plate IP for the province of Schleswig-Holstein in Prussia. In 1938, Altona was merged with Hamburg.

Pros, wood you please join in?

#4 - It´s a DKW?
#7 - 1934 Hotchkiss Break de Chasse
#8 - Bugatti Type 44 Camion Incendie Usine

Wendax

Hello Joao, I somehow knew that you would go for those pre-WWII French cars  ;)

Bad news first, #4 is no DKW.

Better news next: #7 is a Hotchkiss, 1934 is almost correct, locked for you to tell me the model designation.

Best news: #8 is the Bugatti 44 works fire engine.

Allemano

Yes, that's it. Extrapolating the Opel Ascona Voyage idea to an Opel Omega wasn't quite a good idea, I think.
