VW it is. He used some Porsche spare parts to built this car. Being a Porsche worker he made his own car in his free time.

Allemano

after one month Pro's get involved.

woodinsight

Is this the Donnerstag of 1962?

Allemano

I never heard of a Donnerstag (Thursday) in this context and it's not that car.

woodinsight

I found that the Donnerstag (aka Condor GT; aka DoMe 15) was one of Amsterdam's solved puzzles.

Anyway, back to the drawing board as they say!

Allemano

Ah, I didn't read the 'Donnerstag' topic before.

The car of this puzzle was named after its builder. Somehow it's a common name if you think about certain Porsche parts...

Fuchs?
That's it! A lucky punch?
Anyway this car was made between 1959 and 1962 by Heinz Fuchs of Rutesheim/Germany. Fuchs was regionally known for his Fourmula V racing monoposti (and later for Formula SV). Before he founded his company 'Heinz Fuchs Rennwagenbau' in 1965 he was a panel beater for Porsche from 1962-65.
Later a supplier for high-tech racing parts he was involved in the TAG Formula 1 development.

Here's a color pic of his VW engined Hardtop-Roadster. The body was handmade of aluminium on a tubular frame. With a weight of only half a ton the neat little car was able to run 145 km/h.

80%... I thought it was too easy, but then I remebered the Formula V...
Never heard of this one and my book on Porsche specials is in a box now...

Allemano

It's only fatured in the more recent book of Porsche specials. (which still isn't comprehensive!  :-\)
