Another obscure car and apologies for the poor image.
Make, year and who built it for a point.

woodinsight

Expertise required on this one

woodinsight

A small clue on this one - it shares its name with a very popular car but if you want the point you'll have to tell me who the company was who built it and when

Sorry, not Martin
The name I meant is a mass production car

Yes, I thought that was what you meant but I thought the car had a vague look of the Martin-Ford about it so I thought I'd try it!

Specialist body on Ford 10 underpinnings.  I'll have to have a search in 1950's Motor Sport

Ford based - yes.
Good luck with your search but I didn't take the info from that source.

D-type

I couldn't find it there!

I think you'll be hard pressed to find mention of this car anywhere.
However I did find it in a well-known magazine, albeit with a very small and non-sharp picture.

Would a Pro like to have a go?

Late 50s? My guess would be Brookes...

woodinsight

1950s yes, but not Brookes.
This car shares its name with a car marque that is as well known as Ford, Austin, etc... (but not those)
Don't forget however that I need the name of the company who built it for the point

You mean the model name?

woodinsight

No I mean the marque - I don't think it had a model name

woodinsight

Another one that needs reviving.

Clue - it has the same name as a very popular make that is often shortened......

Is this a J.A.G., made by J.A.G. Cars of Thames Ditton from 1954-6?
Forerunner to the RGS (R.G.S. Automotive Components Ltd of Winkfield, Windsor), made by John A. Griffiths, originally sold with the Ford 1172 cc side-valve engine then later on with an MG lump.  Apparently about 50 were sold.

woodinsight

Not Chevrolet or Mercedes.
It's an even longer name than those.

Not a J.A.G. and the year is around half a decade later.
It was built in Surrey and was intended for full production but I believe this was the only one completed.
