Title: Solved - MJW #265 - Tojeiro Ford Williams & Pritchard 1954
Post by: woodinsight on January 30, 2011, 03:23:14 AM
The Experts section is looking a bit depleted so here's a couple more to keep it topped up.

What car is this? What engine did it use? When was it built? Who built the bodywork?
One point on offer.
(apologies for the poor image)

Time for a hint or two -
The car is entirely British.
Chassis and engine are from different manufacturers and the body is in aluminium.

Let's see if I am getting warm.
Are we looking at an Abbott body on a Jowett chassis with an English Ford motor?

Sorry, not that.
However you are looking at a ? aluminium body on a ? chassis with a Ford V8 motor.

AC Buckland chassis?
Not that. The chassis maker was mostly involved with sports racing cars in the 1950s/1960s.

Time for a small clue -
Although the car is British the chassis constructor has a birth link to a southwestern European country

Yes, it's a Tojeiro.
Now I need the name of the company who built the bodywork.
I'll lock it for you until your next reply (within 24 hours)
