I need the proposed year and make on this clay for a point...

Lots of no guesses in Rookieland...how about my fellow experts?

Carnut

Hmmm..  Is it a Ford proposal?

It is a Ford Motor Co. proposal.

OK, well I put Edsel first but changed it as I couldn't find an Edsel that fitted, so I'll try that one again!
I thought those side ornaments looked a bit Mercury-ish, which is why I changed it!

It is an Edsel...locked for you for the proposed year...

Carnut

I'd say it's a very early clay model, probably dating from about 1954.
I guess it would have been for the Edsel's first year on sale, 1958 (launched in August 1957)?

It's just a styling clay for the 1958 Edsel...you can see the direction they were going in (for good or for bad) in the taillight area.

...and I was sure it was William Clay Ford!
