Max, you have answered part of the puzzle correctly - it is a Morris Big Six body but the base it sits on is much older. Quite surprising why such a body was fitted on this chassis.......

The wheels remind me of a high-end American car from the '30s like an Auburn..

Sounds like Sunbeam to me, probably a 3 Litre.
