The year is actually 1985 but as you identified the car correctly and gave the builder's name (which I didn't ask for), I'll give you the point.
I don't know about the majority of members here but I would have thought referring to magazines or the Internet was normal practice.

It's not only usual practice, but the essential part of autopuzzles.com to 'tap' all available sources to unearth and solve old resp. provide new puzzles. :)
If I were to rely on my memory without help from the web I'd be struggling to make 2 points, never mind 200!

My Dutch source indicates that it debuted in the Sports 2000 class on 27 April 1985 driven by Jaap van Schilfhout.
