I'm surprised this one doesn't seem to have been posted before.
Anyway one point for the make, coachbuilder and year.

Yes it is!
Another point for you.

Indeed.
The photo was taken in Portugal in the 1950s although I don't have fuller details of the event at the moment.

Great photo , I wonder how it ended up there!
It later received a Jaguar engine / box transplant & also Jag bumpers + instruments apparently :)
Currently in USA ,now restored with original type flathead / sidevalve six
Couple of additional photos ,one when new & another showing transplant .........
Thanks for those extra photos 72Must, very interesting.
I've found the source of the puzzle photo - it was taken in November/December 1955 at Estoril, Portugal.
The event was the Concours d'Elegancia de Estoril.
Class winners were an AC Ace, AC Aceca, Mercedes-Benz 300SL, Alfa Romeo Giulietta and a Goliath Coupe.
It doesn't mention where the Plymouth finished.
While the puzzle car is the 1954 Explorer, the Putugese car was from 1953, and differs in some details.
Here's the non "corrected" '54 car as it sits today.
Thanks for the superb photos Otto.
I've altered the title on the puzzle to 1953.
I believe your puzzle car is the '54, and was correctly named. The modified car in 72Must's post are the other car -unless they are the same car, modified (though certainly not "corrected"). If it's the latter, that's disappointing
Okay, my mistake, I'll change it back again. Thanks.
