What was this single seater called and when was it built for a point.

Looks to me as if it might be BMW-based, but not 328 as it has too low a bonnet line so perhaps 319.
If it is that, probably built c1948.

I believe it had its own purpose built chassis but it did have a BMW engine at one point.
It dates from 1947.

Yes it's the 1947 Monnier Speciale built by Frenchman Maurice Monnier.
