Who can identify this sports coupe?
Who was the man behind it and when did he build it?
What running gear did it use?
Which body was used?
One point for the complete and accurate answer.

A Walker Special 1963 ( ex Lester )
It is the Walker Special from 1963.

Can you complete the following questions?
- what running gear was used?
- which car did the body come from? (Lester yes but a Lester-? and the year?)
- was the chassis home built or from another manufacturer?
- what was Mr. Walker's first name?

Answer 3 out of 4 and the point is yours.
Locked for you......

Lester-Climax 1955 is correct.
However it wasn't built by P.D.C. Walker
Let's ignore the builder's first name, can you tell me the running gear and whether the chassis was homebuilt?
Still locked for you.

SACO, I'm giving you the point as you've really answered most of the questions correctly - hopefully that's fair to all?
The car builder was Frank Walker of Frampton West, Lincolnshire.
The Walker Special had Morris Minor 1000 running gear on a home-built chassis.

A really interesting one! I've never seen the original Lester Climax before, anyone got a better image of one? (PM me if you want to save it for a future puzzle  ;) ). Any news on what happened to this? I'd have a hard time deciding how to restore it if it were mine, back to original spec (most likely what will happen I guess) or simply restore it as the 'Walker Special' which is just as interesting.... wouldn't have to track down a Coventry Climax either...  :o
