Identity of the car may be easy, but I want to know who built it for whom and when?
All for 1 point.

Experts should sort this one out pretty quickly!

Appears to be a 1961 Ferrari 250 by Drogo.  In most competition photos I have seen of it, it carries #17.

Thanks for that SACO but this puzzle was locked for fyreline...

However, since your answers are still not fully correct fyreline still has the opportunity to say who it was built for and when the car was bodied by Drogo (not 1965).

Apparently this particular car started life in 1960 as a Pininfarina 250 GT Coupe. Shortened and rebodied in 1967 by Drogo, in the years after that the nose had been modified and the body had been painted red once. All I can find regarding ownership is that Pierre De Siebenthal of Switzerland owned it twice.

That tallies with the info I have too, so it was rebodied in 1967 after being crashed - I understand by its Owner at the time - who was Pierre de Siebenthal!

I remember as a 17 year old standing waiting to cross the road in Montreux and this car rumbled past.  I had no idea what it could be and despite poring through all the books that were available at that time it was not mentioned!  It was only years later I spotted its picture in a Ferrari tome that it became clear what I had seen!  (Don't forget the internet at that time wasn't even a twinkle in anyone's eye and computers needed dedicated buildings in which to be housed!)
