I hope this isn't a repost.  I searched for it and didn't find anything.

What is this car, who built it and why?

I don't believe that you don't find any information about the 4-door Ferrari Pinin     ;)

Ferrari named the car after Battista "Pinin" Farina, founder of Pininfarina, and unveiled the concept at the 1980 Turin Motor Show to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pinin's company

It was proposed for sale on the 26 of october at the RM auction in London... Haven't you bought it ?    ;D

Well, that was quick!  You are correct.  I did a search for "Pinin" and ended up with a zillion entries for Pinin Farina.  But the Pinin didn't come up.

So, another point for you.  Gee, you'll be amongst the ranks of the 'Experts' soon at this rate.   8)

The Ferrari Pinin was a static show car that has recently been professionally transformed into a fully functioning sports sedan.

It Not Sold at a high bid of £400,000 at RM's London auction on 26Oct2011 amid a pre-auction Estimate of £480,000-£550,000.

Here are some more pictures of this fabulous car.

I think Araknid meant he searched the AutoPuzzles site to see if he could find if it had been posted before, not that he searched the web and didn't find anything!

The name of the builder in the heading should of course be Pininfarina,  not Pinin Farina - it needs to be changed otherwise it won't show up in a search for 'Pininfarina'.. The name was changed to one word some time in the mid 1950's!

Correct.  Plenty of info about the car on the web.

Name is fixed.  I usually do it as one word, but all the information i had on the car had it as Pinin Farina.
