American and Electric?

It is electric, yes, and believe it to be American too.

I found this one, and the side looks very similar. The nose is different though. Sadly I have no further info on it, except that it is from the early sixties.

It certainly looks very similar around the rear quarters.  Could well be the same maker.
All you need to do now is come up with the name!
For your info the puzzle car also comes from the early sixties..

The red one that I found looks a lot like this black Sports Rider, except for the rear quarter....

Well found.
So they obviously made more than the usual one...!
Reckon the 'Sports' moniker is pushing it a bit!

It is an Electric Sports Rider. Built by the Kelsen Manufacturing Co., Stanton, California.

That's not the name or company I have for it.

If Kelsen took over another company or was taken over let me know.

Some parts built by the Autoette Electric Car Co. were used. Is that the name you expected?

There is a quite interesting Blog about the Autoette and similar electric American microcars of the 50s and 60s, which shows further information about the Electric Sports Rider.

Autoette was the name I was after.

Is it correct to call it the Kelsen Electric Sports Rider or Autoette Electric Sports Rider?

Anyway wendax the point is yours and welcome to what you will find is an interesting site!

I've awarded wendax the point as he obviously knows the car.

However I've received more information saying that there is some confusion regarding the true identity of this car.
If anyone has more information (with irrefutable proof) that it is anything other than an Electric Sports Rider by Kelsen/Autoette I may be tempted to award another point.

To be fair I'll leave it open for a few more days for any further information to surface.

Shouldn't it be merged with this one?
