Not a repost!

Phew that's a relief!  It's been a bad day for them so far!

This is the Buckle GT prototype (I think) which was the work of Sydney car dealer Bill Buckle. It had a Ford Zephyr straight-six engine and a glassfibre body. I think about 25 were made from 1955-60, later cars having a smaller ovoid grille. Buckle also made the successful Goggomobil Dart.

Carnut

It is an early Buckle, yes.
In fact 24 were made but not sure whether this is the prototype or not.
But it did have a name; what is that name for your point?
Locked for your reply!

No, that's not the name I have for it (assuming the one I have is correct, that is...!)
It's not necessarily a proper name; I should perhaps say it has a model designation, so it's a Buckle ***** *****!

Come on, Hezza, you've done most of the work and are nearly there.
I'll keep it locked for you for another 48 hours to come up with its full name but after that I'll have to open it up again for someone else to pinch what should rightfully be your point!

Hi Carnut,

I'm afraid the name I have for it - the one that is used in all the reference works I can find (all two of them) - is the one I gave last time around. I'm intrigued!

OK, I'll check my source again and if I'm wrong I'll give you the point!

Edit:
I've checked and the name I have for it is the correct name and as yet you haven't given me it.
I'll keep it locked for you for 24 more hours but after that I may have to throw it open again if you can't come up with it!

Good luck!

Thanks a million for keeping it open, Carnut, but I think I will admit defeat. I'm stumped!

Hezza

Carnut

OK, but I've given you a point for getting the make right Hezza, and now there's another point available for the correct model designation.  Open to all eligible.

And incidentally Hezza - I  note you are now an Expert!
Congratulations! :drive:

So that means no more answering Rookie puzzles for you anyway!

So let's see if the Experts can deliver that last bit of the name.
Some websites do just refer to this as a Buckle without another name but the one I picked the picture up from seemed pretty authoritative on it.

Of course we had already established that it is a glass-fibre bodied Buckle with a 2553 cc Ford Zephyr engine (for which Hezza gained 1 point), but you have also provided the model name I was looking for (2.5 Coupe) which does seem to have been its official name.

So the second point is yours!
