Title: Solved: PN #98 -- Skoda Octavia „Old Sportwagen” by Peter Heck, Switzerland, 1971
Post by: pnegyesi on July 05, 2010, 11:17:46 PM
There are two points offered for this one:
- one for the donor
- another one if you identify both its builder and the country where it was built (country alone will not yield a point).

I don't know exactly when this one was built, but an approximate time frame can be established.

Let me hear some guesses :)

I think it's based on a Skoda 1101

Almost correct as it is based on a Skoda, but not on a 1101

I don't know the exact year, but this one was based on a Skoda Octavia. One point for Amsterdam - once the other part is revealed: who built it and where?

Is there any info to find on this car on the web?.....or would that be a complete waste of time? :)

Let me translate for you. It is Peter Heck from Switzerland. He started building this car in December 1968, using a Skoda Octavia S from 1963. He modified the engine by using a twin carburator and a Felicia cylinder head in order to achieve around 55 hp instead of the former 40 hp. He worked almost 1900 hours and spent 2900 Swiss Francs on the car. It was registered for road use on June 15, 1971. The main part of the first article describes the work in detail.

By the way, according to a recent Skoda club magazine he is working on another self-built car right now. This time a Skoda 105 serves as the base.
