This connection is tenuous, as I cannot link more than the coutnry of Span, but here goes:

Car #14 / 1927 Motores y Automóviles Ricart 226, built by Spaniard Wifredo Ricart, who would later be the father of the Pegaso

Place H / The Plaza de España is a building in Maria Luisa Park, in Seville, Spain built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929
Mr Puzzell, you really left me speechless.
It's right of course, but I do have a very clear and easy (not only tenuous) connection for this. And it's indeed "Spain" somehow...

Locked for you.

OK - let's try this: A 50th Anniversary Pegaso exhibit was held at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona
March 21st through June 4th, 2001. Barcelona was Wifredo Ricart'S birthplace.
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

I don't think that this one has been solved yet, but Car #2 is.....

EDIT: Oops, sorry, I think this is still locked for Limo.

Otto Puzzell

I almost did that, too. The 24 hours are up, but I defer to Allemano to officially unlock.

No. In fact it's much easier. I've already said the place you've mentioned before is correct.

Sorry Limo, but this point goes to Mr. Puzzell as well.

Allemano

only car #8 and #14 are still unsolved.

I would have guessed #14 is one of the easiest...

#8 is a little tricky and I'm very proud to found that connection. ;D

QuoteThe Plaza de España (...)

There's everything you need to solve it. No more clues from me now.

Otto Puzzell

OK - maybe Limo can get his point back.  :)

You don't have to rub it in - my Spanish skills are weak, I know.  :shiner:

Got nothing to do with your Spanish skills, you simply overlook something..

Well, this has been a struggle, but I think I have finally identified Car #8, the small 4-wheel steering transporter, as a Trenkle A52.

The link is obviously with Place L, the magnificent viaduct, and this is the Mintarder Brücke, which crosses the Ruhr valley near Mülheim in Germany, and which forms part of the A52 autobahn running between Essen and Düsseldorf.

Great work Tom_I! That's exactly what I had in mind!! :applause:

Tom_I

I'm not absolutely sure about the last one, but it's been established that Car #14 is the 1927 Ricart 266.

In 1928 Wifredo Ricart joined forces with the founder of the recently collapsed España car company, to make cars under the name Ricart-España. That would then provide a tenuous link to Place H, the Plaza de España in Seville, built in the same year.

Absolutely! It is a Ricart-España which matches the Plaza de España in Seville. Simple as that!

Otto Puzzell

But the puzzle car is not a Ricartt-España.

I was being to literal, to my own detriment.  :shiner:

Tom_I

I'd have to agree with Otto. If I've understood correctly the car shown was one of two prototypes made by Motores y Automóviles Ricart, a company which he established in 1926, and which pre-dated the link-up with España. That's why I wasn't sure it was the right answer!

Allemano

Oh I see... apologize, but I believed it acutally IS a Ricart-España.
I think I remove this car from the result board then.

And another group puzzle has been solved. I hope you enjoyed it!
