Six wheels looking for an identity.
For one point, please respond and identify this car, its base and its date of creation.
Score 6:0
Six wheels, no guesses, time to change the team, expert time.
Is there a Fiat (Jungla) underneath?
:shakehead:
By the hubcaps and wheels there must be a Volkswagen under there. Is it from Brazil?
Volkswagen yes, Brazil no
How about Romania? Looks like an ARO badge.
This puzzle car is not from Romania.
Professional VW knowledge needed

Sechsrad?
It looks like the beetle engine is in the same place as normal and a kind of subframe was added. Googling Sechsrad and Kaefer did not help me a lot. I'll try geography. Is this Southern Germany?
No

No
The obvious next question would then be Northern Germany, but the Germans have a habit of thinking in Middle Germany as well, so the question needs asking. Is it Northern Germany?
Yes, it is Northern Germany.
Big city?
Yes
It's a Meller Falke (Falcon), a prototype six-wheeler built on a shortened Beetle chassis by Karl-Heinz Meller in Hamburg in 1980.
He apparently had dealings with Saudi Arabia, and a Saudi prince asked him to design and build a light vehicle for falconry hunting in the desert. There was an intention to put it into small series production, but Meller died suddenly, and the project folded.
 First I had the impression that this is an ordinary VW transformation, but actually it tells a quite interisting story.

Yes, it is. Congratulations, Tom_I.
It would have been a pity to put this puzzle in the Black Hole.
BTW, Karl-Heinz Meller was quite known in Germany for having taken over the Heinkel spare parts business. The car itself was shown at the IAA and featured in the well-known German magazine "stern". I saw the car around 1985 in a sad state on the premises of a DIY garage, painted green and with lots of patina. Fortunately, someone restored it.

Sechs Räder and Käfer would have shown the picture. ;)
According to a certain source there should be another one in the desert.
That's what it looked like in 1990:
An old article and a view at the mid-engine (!):
(The car is up for sale right now.)
