Otto pointed out that the previous car was a re-post (a Lyle 4600 V8), so above is a new image and new mystery!

Could it be one of South African specials?

Otto Puzzell

Is it a Formula 2 car of some type?

Djetset

It is African, and I believe it is an F2 car of sone type.

Guess it's gonna be an LDS Mk3 - Climax, shot probably in 1967. Sam Tingle at the wheel?
Should be an F1 car, though.

Djetset

Correct on every count, including the fact this is the F1 car (oophs, should have double-checked my facts) from Rhodesia.

Ahem!

The description of the LDS in David Hodges's A-Z of Grand Prix Cars states "L D 'Doug' Serrurier was the leading South African single-seater constructor ..."

Sam Tingle was Rhodesian which is probably the cause of the confusion.

One of these cars, the Mk2, had a Giulietta engine.

Reconstruction of the history of these South African F1 cars seems not so easy.
I'm still trying to complete the puzzle of Giulietta powered F1 cars...
but anyway, in case of LDS, the story is a tad more complex than 'the MK2 had a Giulietta engine'.
