I actually have it as a 331, but it seems that either of those designations can apply to this car.

Powered by a 600cc boxer engine I believe.
FredrikB didn't seem to enjoy being an Expert much...

The puzzle picture has gone, so here are some more.

Although the car is oftenly called 331, the correct number is 531, because beginning in 1948 BMW started numbering car chassis in the number range 500-539.
