Title: Solved: Wendax 313 - W. H. Jones' car cycle
Post by: Wendax on August 22, 2011, 02:36:00 AM
The great moments of coachbuilding happened somewhere else.

For one point, please respond and identify this car by telling the builder, for whom it was built, when it was built and where the two main parts came from.   :D

Yes, Google's "Search by Image" delivered the right one.

In order to keep my part of fun in posting puzzles, I have to think about new forms of puzzles that can't be solved alone by finding the picture. I'll post the ones I have in stock just as before, but then possibly there will be a creative pause. Sorry for that, but I think we have reached a point where there has to be done an evolutionary step.

Same with me. Google did a disservice... Like I've said before changing color of the pics would help, but that's not the way it should be.

I've asked before: wasn't it that hard to find after all?  :-\

You joke, but what next?
The UK is already the most heavily surveilled nation in the world with everyone either in their car or on foot being photographed at least 10 times per day...
Already they can see when you got up, where you went (and who with!) and when you got home..
George Orwell was just a little out on his date!

This only works if the pictures are used which are already cataloged elsewhere on the 'net.

FWIW, I tried a couple of things with some new puzzles, that seem effective in combating this evil tool. If possible, take a crop from a larger photo, and rotate it by some degrees. Also, making colour pictures B&W, or changing the tint of B&W pictures, seems to work quite well. It's easy to check with the very same evil Google tool, if your modifications have proven effective. I mixed in a few un-retouched photos to make sure I knew who is being naughty, and who is being nice.

The results are quite telling.  ;)

Since we've now had another member come clean, I hope we can come to an agreement about if, when and how to allow or disallow the use of this tool.

I am working on a small set of tutorials for the "news" section. One will be some general, easy-to-do (and free) things that make pictures insusceptible to Google's image search.

Stay tuned.
