There are some visual similarities between a Countach and this one, and that's probably intentional. Regarding its base, I don't know what kind of chassis it's built on - but I can tell you that the engine is quite a lot more interesting than a Beetle unit (no offense to Beetle lovers).

Looks different than the mystery car, doesn't it? And it seems to have an American powerplant.

I guess it's an European car with a big, maybe Italian engine!
