Who recognises this one?
What elements were used in its construction?
Who was the man behind it?
When was it built?

woodinsight

Rookies haven't rumbled it - up it goes

barrett

I wonder if this will last long enough for me to get home and find it in my files....? ;D

It probably will - it's quite obscure!

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

Is this an Alvis, thought by some to be built by coachbuilder Bidee of Brussels?
Or is that another puzzle I'm thinking about, perhaps now solved?!

Edit:  Yes, forget my post.  I'm thinking of barrett's #122, which is still active on the Pro's board and to which I have not added anything new...!

It's not an Alvis but it is British and based on a well-known UK sports car

MGA-based?
It is based on MGA 1500 running gear.....
I'll lock it for you until your next reply.

Thanks woodinsight.
Unfortunately, though I've plumbed the depths of my computer for the answer to this one, I've drawn a complete blank so you'd better open it up to all again.

Okay - open for all again......

I believe this car was registered in Kent in 1968 as simply 'BMC Special'. It was built by a Mr F. Hood and featured MGA running gear, an Austin A-series engine and an MGB windscreen. Chances are it had a different name but I don't what it is...

Good to see you back Hezza.
You are correct - it is the BMC Special by F. Hood 1968.
Another point wings it way to you.
