That's very strange. The reason I didn't blur the advertisements was that I was quite convinced that this is not a Daihatsu, and I still don't think it's a BCX-II anyway... would you mind revealing your source?

There's a fantastic book called Japanese Showcars 1970-1979 which has a virtually identical picture to yours of the Daihatsu BCX-II as displayed at the 1972 Tokyo Show.

Yes, I've been to that site, but I think there are also a couple of others that have mixed these up. That web site has also got a picture of a totally different car as the Daihatsu BCX-II. But I admit that the evidence that you're right is very convincing, so I'll give you the point and call the car a Daihatsu :)
