It's a 1959 Asardo Alfa Romeo!

@re

I know this by a particular model designation (although not very original). Can you tell me which? :)

Oh, you're very accurate...  American Special Automotive Research and Design Organisation (ASARDO) of North Bergen, New Jersey showed its first and only model, 1500 AR-S, at 1959 New York Motor Show
Any relevant facts missing?  ;)

@re

I believe that's much more accurate than the model designation I knew this car by. I had it archived as the 1959 Asardo Sport-Race Coupé, but I have much more faith in the 1500 AR-S. The point is clearly yours, anyway :)

Ahh, yes - the Asardo. The car that a certain well-known (in some circles at least) Belgian car-dealer and self-proclaimed AR expert tried to sell for some insane money by claiming in his book that it's an Alfa Romeo TZ pre-prototype.
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Olczyk?  :lmao:

ImpishGrin

Yep. I'd be careful with using his name though, from what I've heard he likes to sue people doubting his expertise :P

He's banned from most of the boards where he was active! Reading topics which he had participated was very entertaining!
Time for an invitation...  ;D

An interesting tidbit - the car is related to Austria

This car was raced in the late 1950's, at Lime Rock and other northeast US venues.

It is a terrible photo of the Asardo 1500 AR-S.  Because it is actually a photo of the Asardo 3500 GM-S.  Same car, but with a Buick 215 cubic inch V8 instead of the Alfa Romeo engine.
