Although there are rather a lot of unsolved puzzles, I have a few I shall add.
Here's one I saw a couple of weeks ago

Thankyou, but (perhaps unexpectedly) it is not British.

(1) 1910s?

(2) A make that lasted a long time after this car was made, or not?
Title: Re: Allan L no 61
Post by: Allan L on September 11, 2009, 09:05:39 AM
To answer both at once, Georgano tells us that the make existed 1912-14 (i.e. the answers are (1) yes; (2) no)

OK then! Now I wonder if I can track it down based on that before someone beats me to it!

Could this be a voiture from Terrot, the motorcycle manufacturer? I think this is a 2-seater Sport model from cca 1913

No.
However, almost everything I know about Terrot also applies to the firm that made this one.

Throwing out these names because they seem to be associated with the relevant country & dates. Is it any of these?

Diederichs
La Roulette (edit - actually my copy of Georgano says this went from 1912 only to 1913).
Luxior

Is the first pic modified to obscure the badge, or is the badge just conveniently unreadable in it?

If the former, can you post an unmodified pic?

Thanks.

Are you saying you saw & photographed this yourself? Now THAT'S the kind of car I wish I could get to see in person!

The three that I posted in this batch were at the Cyclecar gathering that was part of the VSCC's 75th anniversary celebrations in Malvern at the beginning of August.
Not only did I see them in the metal, but mostly they were to be seen running (can't remember seeing Baby CID running, now I think of it) and some were even used on the public roads.

1914 CID Baby.

I'm pretty sure it's a repost but the search function on this site doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for finding the original, Wendax. I'd forgotten that I participated in trying to solve that one, much less came close to actually doing so!

I say let him keep it - as he said, he was almost there last time and although he thought it was a re-post, he couldn't find it!
