What is this car for point or two?
It's blurry, that's what it is!
:faint:
Let's kick this one off then.....
Obviously Japanese.
From the 1970s?
It's the Liza GTR shown at a Tokyo show in 1969, and here's a big pic:
Fantastic! Any other info available? Was it a self-made racing car? Somehow, I cannot find anything online.
It is parked next to the 1968 Bizzarini Manta by Giugiaro.
The Liza GTR definitely looks like a purpose-built racing car, having no headlights, and questionable build quality. It does seem to have gullwing doors.
"Liza GTR" is not an easy phrase to Google. I suspect the car could be called "The Liza GTR by M. Kaneko". The main sponsor of the car may be KMCE. More information might be available, by searching for a race driver named M. Sato, who was active in 1969.
(Sorry if I point out the obvious. Sometimes it can help to find more info)
Two points and many thanks for Quiller!
Below is another picture I have managed to find. Any other info or pictures are very welcome.
The title might be "日本レクランド", but I don't know what it means.. Looks like "Japanese smth".
I just did some more reading about the Bizzarrini Manta next to Liza. The Manta was originally painted orange with black and white stripes. That appears to be the paint scheme from the 1969 Tokyo Motor Show. This is the only picture I have seen of the Manta with this paint job. After it left the show circuit, it was painted silver. When it was restored in the U.S. it was painted the current pale green color.
(It seems the first display of the Manta in 1968, it may have been painted green as well. More pictures, that are lost in time)
Any pictures of orange Manta?
I found one. And it is called "red-orange".
