A new #172. This was part of a group puzzle before but I think it deserves its own place.... What is it, when was it built, what was it based on for a point:

From Japan?

Not Japan
-
Pininfarina design?

Not Pininfarina
-
Giovanni Michelotti?
-
As far as I'm aware, there is no Italian stylist involved in this car
-
Vemag 1000 Moldex PB2 ?
-
Not quite the name I have. Locked for you for 12 hours to come up with the right one
-
Moldex MB ?
-
That's it.
Actually, I was under the impression that MB was the company and Moldex was the model name (see unaltered photo above). Can anyone confirm either way?
Anyway, this was a prototype sporting car based on DKW 1000 mechanics built in Brazil by Roberto Stieler and Rodolfo Rivolta. It was first shown at the Sao Paulo motor show in 1961. At least two were built as you can see from the images below, and at least one (open) car survives

1 point for identifying this car correctly (and as far as I can ascertain it's NOT a re-post!):
Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Search by Image as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.
AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.
We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.
Have fun!

Indeed.

Merged! ;)

Merged! ;)
The original puzzle was a cabriolet; mine was a saloon.
Does that count as the same car?!

I've had others pro-level AutoPuzzlers post interior shots of cars I've already posted as new puzzles.
As an AutoPuzzles admin, and an accomplished pro-level puzzler, you are qualified, entitled and welcome to un-merge them.
-
Appreciated and thanks.
After thinking about it though I'll leave it merged as there's really nothing to be gained by un-merging them. Both versions are there for all to see and will come up whatever the Search.

Sorry...my fault! :bag:
