For one point, describe the year, make, and engine configuration of this old car

Time for the Experts to give it a try.

Lanchester, circa 1912, Horizontally-opposed 4 cylinder motor with one valve per cylinder?

Not a Lanchester.  Original construction was completed after 1912.  Engine is horizontally opposed.  Not four-cylinder.

I know I've seen this very photo before somewhere, I just can't recall the car or where.

Was this car delivered new to India?

1918 Hall 20.6 hp Landaulet. This car is pictured in my well-worn first edition of G.N. Georgano's Encyclopedia of Motorcars, with an apology for the condition of the car in the photo. It was explained that this was the only photo available of what was thought to be the only Hall left in existance. It featured a mid-mounted side-valve flat-eight engine. I wonder if the car was ever restored?

The point goes to Fyreline for the complete answer.  Mr. H.E. Hall built this one-off car between 1911 and 1918, using parts from several other makes.  The rear axle is from a Studebaker, the radiator is from a Talbot.  The engine was of his own design.  The car has been restored.
