(No, it's not carnut).  ;)

For 1 point, ID the gentleman pictured, and his area of contribution to the world of car nuttiness.

Be sure to answer all parts of the question, if you'd like the point. Only complete answers will earn a point

Looks like Wayne Newton to me.   I don't know what he contributed to car nuttiness other than that he owned a Deusenberg and some other stuff on display at the Imperial Palace car museum.

This car nut appears to be Stan Mott, who, by all accounts, is a nut.  He spent a couple years going around the world in a go-kart.  He's drawn all sorts of wild and crazy car things that can only come from the mind of someone just as twisted as his creations.  If you had a chance to pick who you'd like to spend an automotive-related dinner with, he would be tops in entertainment value.  It it he?

I've found the very same picture searching futuristic vehicles
This guy is 'A young Bob Gurr at Art Center'.
Robert Henry Gurr (born October 25, 1931 in Los Angeles, California)[1][2] is an American amusement ride designer and Imagineer. His most famous work was for Walt Disney's Disneyland Park, and its subsequent sister parks. Gurr is said to have designed most, if not all, of the ride vehicles of the Disneyland attractions, including Autopia, Haunted Mansion, the Disneyland Monorail, the Submarine Voyage, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds. He was named a Disney Legend in 2004. He also worked on the King Kong Encounter animatronic for Universal Studios Hollywood.
Gurr began his career with Disney designing the Autopia vehicles. He later gave himself the title of Director of Special Vehicle Development
