Maybe a diesel Hanomag Rekord and Anne-Cecile Rose-Itier at the 1937 Rallye du Maroc (1937 Maroc car was an open top, it seems) 1939 Rallye Monte Carlo?

grobmotorix

I do not think it´s a diesel, but it most probably is a Hanomag Rekord.

Give me the right engine cacity and you´ve got the point.

(it is not the Rallye Maroc car)

faksta

Well, if it's a rally Monte Carlo from 1939, then it may indeed be a diesel car, according to various sources (can't guarantee the didn't take info from each other, though). Hanomag Rekord Diesel had an engine capacity of 1910cc.

It´s not a Rally Monte Carlo car.
This is why I said it was no diesel.

The engine did not have 1,9 liter , but...?

faksta

...1,5 liter? Otherwise, feel free to unlock it for all, as I'm just guessing now.

grobmotorix

You´ve finally equalled my points and I´m sure you will overtake me soon!

faksta

I know! I know! I know!

Must be a 1931 Coupe Internationale des Alpes, Lilian Roehrs?

Oh, indeed :P Thanks! :)

grobmotorix

I´ve given you the point immediately after your 1,5 liter guess. I´ve heard all the facts I´ve wanted to hear. And it is a 1938 car...

faksta

Do you have the info about what race it is then?

grobmotorix

Alpenfahrt 1938 ;)

By the way: there was a 2250ccm version, too!

It isn't easy to find information about 1938 Hanomags.

Is it actually a 1.5 liter?  Hanomag ruled the 1.1 liter class during the 1930's.

grobmotorix

The puzzle car and another Hanomag coupé with a different starting number were listed as 1498ccm cars.

The second car in my last post and another one was listed as 2250ccm cars.

Especially for a rally dumb like me :P

grobmotorix

Here are the listings of the Hanomag works teams in the 1500 and 2250ccm class (the puzzle car was #154):

A couple years ago a couple hundred Carl Zapletal (sometimes referred to as Karl Zapletal) glass plate negatives were unearthed in Vienna. Beyond that only a few original photos appear, though he must have made thousands of pictures - he was at all Austrian and most of the Hungarian races from the 1920s to the 2nd WW

grobmotorix

I guess I have a couple of hundreds of Zapletal photos or better magazine scans on my HDD, too:

yes, you can find online a good selection of his pictures in scanned magazines. However as a researcher I focus on the original negatives /photos. And that's a totally different thing
