1 point for the technical basis and for the driver/builder

It is a one-off, but no bits are australian, I´m quite sure.

Chassis and engine definitly do not match originally.

I think it's a Bugatti with a Maserati engine built and raced in Austria. As for builder/driver, will have to look up later.

LOCKED for you! It´s almost enough to give you this point.

Just found some more info on it than before and that Maserati bit is said to be doubtful. Probably the most realistic suggestion is 1957, Josef Huber, Bugatti T37 chassis and unsupercharged Bugatti 2-liter engine.

I think you gave all the facts I need for a point.

My source calls it Huber Bugatti M37 with a Maserati 2l engine.

What's left to find now is whether it really had Maserati or Bugatti 2 liter engine  :)

QuoteVienna-Aspern airport race (Austria), 28 April 1957.

From the original entry form:
Josef Huber, Wien XIX , Fürfanggasse 1
Bugatti, Type Rennsport, M37, no info about year built, 8 cylinder, 1995 cc, bore 60 mm, stroke 88 mm, 2 carbs, engine no. 4059, chassis no. nil, no supercharger.

No Maserati engine, but a typical 2 litre Bugatti unsupercharged one. If Huber mixed up engine number with chassis number (which afaik has also been stamped to the engines) the engine is from #4059, the T32 tank which had been sold to the Juneks.

No information about the chassis, can be anything, from T37 through Maserati to homebuilt special.

;)
