For one point, please identify this car, the coachbuilder and the year.
Up!
Pros?
British?
Just the coachwork.
Clue : American car!
Is it based on an Essex?
Not an Essex. Try a different location ;)
About a 1916 REO?

A different location in MI?
Yes!
Flint?
Lansing?
No and no.
Dearborn? (I hope not!)
Not from there.
Thank goodness for that...
Will continue with a more positive outlook now if Wendax doesn't get there first!
I'll be watching Sherlock Holmes on the TV right now. You may proceed, my dear Watson. :D

Thank you kind sir!
Enjoy the programme.
However I doubt if I'll get much further tonight......
Built in Grand Rapids?
No, located within the Detroit metropolitan area.

Ahá! It's an Oakland. Locked for you.
This might be slightly difficult now as there were many UK coachbuilders bodying US chassis in the 1920s.
One possibility that springs to mind is Gordon & Co., Sparkbrook, Birmingham who seemed to specialise in American cars?
Not by them, it's not difficult at all.
It's a 1915 Oakland btw. ;)

That's earlier than I had guessed and rules out several coachbuilders that were not yet in business in 1915.
I presume when you say that it's not difficult, you mean it's a well-known firm....
Let's try Thrupp & Maberly?
Not by Thrupp & Maberly. The same coachbuilder bodied a Hispano-Suiza.
I've narrowed the possibilities down to half-a-dozen now......
How about Arnold of Manchester?
Not by Arnold.
Next on my short list is Grosvenor Carriage Co. of London?
Mitchell?
