Surely, the 1948 Jaguar XK100, 2 litre, 4 cylinder unit originally intended as an alternaive to the XK120's 3.4 6 pot.

......that reminds me of the Shirley which was a Ford Special produced here in England in the 1950s!
As for the XK120, it was a great engine attached to a miserable gearbox via a long-travel clutch actuation. The steering matched the braking..........dangerous! The entity was a very powerful piece of overweight junk which the experts still worship! Great-looking thing, nonetheless; and I am in awe of those heroes who raced them.
