For one point, name this race car, the man who drove it, and the engine that powered it.

For a second point, specify the prize the car won at this location.

The car is not from 1964.  It may be based on a Chevrolet, but during its racing career, it was known by a different name.

Up!

Time for the expert race car fans to give it a shot.

RayTheRat gets one point.

A Chevy "Funny Car" with a supercharged Chrysler Hemi sitting behind the driver.

Locked for 24 hours for RayTheRat.  Can you answer the second part?

RayTheRat

The second part?  Car's name?  "Chevoom."  Not sure that the owner drove it, but it was owned by Maynard Rupp.

sixtee5cuda

Nah, the second point.  What award did the car win at that show?

RayTheRat

Ohhh...it won the 1966 Ridler award.  I missed that entirely.  Duh.

One more point for RayTheRat.

Isn't it great, that a funny car won the Ridler?

RayTheRat

Very few race cars have won the Ridler.  It's generally awarded to an outrageous show car. Ironically, the first Ridler award was won by a Competition Coupe:
