What's this car and who built it, for 1 point?

Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Search by Image as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

Nice car!

Researching this one lead me to learn a lot more about the Chappe brothers, and the french manufacturer Alpine.

Chappe and Gasselin also built the Panhard CD, at first assembled in the former Velam works. Eventually they crated a brand of their own, the CG Simca...

Alpine A106 called cabriolet Chappe?

Wendax

You have found the right car, but it is not just Chappe, but Chappe ....

That's right. Jean Rédélé waited in vain for a Michelotti designed Alpine convertible, so he finally commissioned Chappe et Gessalin to build him a convertible for the 1956 Salon d' Automobile in Paris.

Looks amazingly like the sketches of the proposed Renault 'Dauphine GT' of the late 50s, which eventually morphed into the Floride. ;) ???

Paul Jaray

Merged.
Title should be changed, that's an Alpine A 106 Cabriolet by Chappe et Gessalin, presented at the 1956 Salon.
