I don't believe he did anything like that. He is remarkable only for having his picture taken while seated in the car, as far as far as I know.

The ballplayer - who shares his name with the builder of the race car behind the puzzle car, has an alliterative name (first name and surname).

Running trough the list of baseball players named Rodriguez could take us years, so it's a good thing it's not that one.  ;)

Gary Kohler, 5, sits in electric car built as group project by students at Van Nuys High School. In rear is racing car built by Manny Machado of Harbor Junior College.
