Bentley?
-
Yes , it's a Bentley !
Locked for you !
-
That's all I have, a Bentley (based on the fact that the grill looks like one) ....
Wild guess: 1949 Bentley Mark VI Pininfarina?
-
Yes , it's a Bentley MK VI
and doubtless by Pininfarina...( but perhaps also Ghia )
I have doubts ???
1 point for you !
-
I had serious doubts, because I have this picture of the 1949 Mark VI by Pininfarina. It's not the same car in detail, but it comes close. That's why I called it a 'guess' ...
-
I found out something else: since you're puzzle picture seems to have come out a movie I've looked this up, with the following result:
- I've found out that my picture is a 1949 Bentley Mk VI with Drophead Coupe coachwork by Pininfarina ( chassis B435 CD ). This car has been for sale in the USA a while back.
- You're puzzle car should be 'chassis B299 FU, supplied originally in february 1950 to Commendatore Adelmo Della Casa, which was later owned by Ingrid Bergmann. The car shown here is listed a a Ghia body, which I find very difficult to believe bcause it all the hallmarks of a Pininfarina designed body. Unfortunately the chassis, now in Australia, seems to have a Park Ward Convertible body fitted, and the body shown is perhaps lost...' and it was used in an Italian movie called 'Viaggio in Italia' from 1954.
Can someone confirm this?
-
Lol, I can as I found this answer and posted it on the cars in films site. It is quite obvious by now though, that this car is by Ghia, not Pininfarina. It does not survive, this body, as the chassis now carries a Park Ward convertible body.

You are doubtless right !
The Bentley :

And an Alfa 2500S by Ghia :
