If u get a chance have a look at a pic of a R E quad. As far as I can see they are identical.

That's a good point. I know someone that will know the definative answer, I'll ask his opinion. I would hace assumed that at least the frame was made by Massey-Harris, I doubt the engine was. I'll let you know.
