Is it a 1949 Bristol 402, built in England by Bristol Aircraft? :-\

The front half reminded me a bit of the Peel(?)-bodied 356-lookalike MGA, TYE 83.

German underpinnings (Gutbrod?) or German coachbuilder (Rometsch?)?

I think it is a Wendler VW Ponton-Cabrio, 1950.

Built for the MG dealer Mölders from Heidelberg, known as a racing driver.

I don't wanna be cocky but my source (a book about Wendler off Ralf Kieselbach) said it is 1952.
There was another MG roadster which was made in 1951.

This is probably the original of the puzzle picture.  Not sure where it originally appeared, and this is the only such image I found online.
