Identify the name, who built it, when and what was it based on.
One point for the correct answer.
So easy but so good looking!
Reminds me of a girl I used to date. :)
Up !
Pros !
It's a 1962-65 Lancia Aurelia custom by Plotnikoff.
Yes , 1962-65 Lancia Aurelia French custom by Plotnikoff.
The base is a special Aurelia by Pininfarina :
1 point for you!
Looks fabulous, any better pictures out there?
Who is this Plotnikoff? The surname is surely Russian - an immigrant? What were his other works if any?

It's just a play on words.
When someone has rather lost direction we say they've "lost the plot".
Since the car was by a Mr Plotnikoff it was just a play on his name..
Aaah..got it now. I knew the phrase, but just did not associate it with the surname :D
SACO, thanks for the pictures! :)
As this is a black+white pic everybody says: wow, what a cool conversion!
If this would happen today and there would be a color pic instead they would yell: what a sacrilege to convert a unique bodied Lancia into an oik's car.
:P How right you are!
Allemano, very true! At first I thought it was a great looking little car.... then when I saw it was based on an Aurelia I was a little surprised.... when I saw it was based on a custom Pininfarina bodied Aurelia I was slightly disappointed... But I still think it is nice enough looking not to feel too guilty about that.
I hope no one would be stupid enough to cut up an Aurelia to create a special in 2011, but far more heinous crimes have been committed by so-called 'enthusiasts' on even rarer and more desirable cars...
Don't get me wrong – I like it, too. ;D
